Never Launch Your Starship Prematurely: COTD

Some vehicles are great but suffer from the most unfortunate timing. The Chevy Monza could have been greater had it been launched in the 1960s or after the Malaise Era ended. Buyers didn’t get a rotary, but as large as a 350 cubic inch V8s that made a smoking 125 HP.

Today, we asked you what good cars were released at the wrong time. There were a lot of great answers, but one was really creative from Sid Bridge:

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B.
They really should have waited until after Tuesday.

In Star Trek Generations, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B departed for her maiden voyage with the crew of the decommissioned USS Enterprise-A aboard for a publicity stunt. The ship didn’t have a medical staff, photon torpedoes, or a tractor beam, as those were to be delivered the following Tuesday. That was supposed to be okay because the ship wasn’t supposed to do any real starship stuff, but that’s not what happened.

This morning, Mark Tucker got into the Halloween spirit by doing a Shitbox Showdown between two hearses. I love the story VanGuy told here:

When I first started my (now-defunct) DJ business, my parents rejected the idea of buying a hearse for moving the equipment and adopting the slogans “Party til you’re dead” or “Life is short, party now!”

Adrian gave his professional opinion on the new Kia Tasman and yeah, it’s not exactly a looker. Dottie got me with this one:

If I needed to give an argument for the Chicken tax this would be Exhibit A. It looks like a solid competitor to swoop up the Jeep Gladiator crowd but yeesh K backwards N I mean Kia fumbled the bag hard with this design.

Yesterday, Jason published a piece about a very confusing viral Range Rover video. He pitched the video to me to see if I could make anything of it. Nope, I continue to be just as baffled as he is. Scaled29 sums it up well, I guess:

I have heard of this happening. You think you’re with *it*, but one day you realize that they changed what *it* is. Now what you are with isn’t *it*, and what’s *it* seems probably strange and foreign to you.

Skibidi toilet, now please make sure you don’t have an Ohio night!

Hey, my first COTD!

I’d like to thank the academy and everyone who made this possible.

Respectfully, that person was actually channeling Grampa Simpson:
